Over the past few decades, it has become commonplace to think about the energy efficiency of the buildings we create during the design phase. More recently, the analysis has expanded to include the impact on greenhouse gas emissions and climate. AIA has made the commitment of working toward carbon-neutral buildings as a cornerstone of the AIA 2030 Challenge. How will your next project contribute to greenhouse gas reduction and support this AIA goal? What can you do to make decarbonization a part of your design goals? What changes are happening in the energy industry that will affect how buildings use energy and how will that affect design decisions? In this presentation we will show how you can take steps to achieve these objectives and you will hear from a panel of your peers about what they have achieved and how they have gone about achieving it.
